We would like to thank Vons for their participation in the eScrip program!
During 2008 Boys & Girls Club of Ventura earned $11,700 in contributions from this program. The Vons/Safeway eScrip is a fantastic program where schools/clubs can earn money from purchases families are already making at their local Vons/Safeway. Over 650 Boys & Girls Club families have registered their Safeway Club Card numbers and now every time they shop a percentage of what they spend is coming back to The Club.
The money that is generated from this program has gone to support the vital programs we provide throughout our five Ventura locations.
Thank you Vons/Safeway for continuing to fund this program even as the economy has slumped. We very much appreciate your committment to education even when economic times are hard. We appreciate your support and look forward to continuing our partnership with you to fund youth education!

"Things I've learned" from the perspective of Boys & Girls Club of Ventura's 14 year olds:

I've learned that work comes first; fool around later.

I've learned that being pretty on the inside is better than being pretty on the outside.

I've learned that not everything in life is fair.

I've learned that all people want is someone to listen to them.

I've learned that girls seem to fight with their friends a lot, but almost never with their enemies.

I've learned that it takes a long time to make a friendship and a fraction of a second to destroy it.

I've learned that your imagination is as important as your knowledge.

I've learned that to say no to someone is not wrong.

I've learned that by following others, you aren't following yourself.
